Dear Colleague,  

We invite you to participate in a short electronic survey of haemodialysis catheter (non-tunnelled central venous catheters, also referred to as Vascaths) care and maintenance in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Your decision to participate in this survey is voluntary and if you choose not to participate, this will not affect your relationship with the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses. 

What we are asking you to do: 

  • The survey is anonymous and has received institutional ethics approvals (Griffith University Ref Number 2023/756)  
  • It consists of 35 questions over 7 domains and should take around 20 minutes of your time to complete 
  • There are no foreseeable risks associated with participation in this research  
  • Submitting of the survey will imply consent to participate. Once you have submitted the survey, you will not be able to withdraw this consent as no identifying details of your submission will be kept and all responses will be aggregated.

Other important information: 

  • This survey will be open until 31 May 2024
  • Survey results will be reported to participating organisations (e.g. ACCCN) and will be disseminated via journal articles and/or conference presentations 
  • Electronic survey results and any other research materials will be stored electronically on a secure Griffith University platform (Research Space) for a period of five years from the date of the final publication before being destroyed
